Christine Maxwell directs the New Schools Project at Erikson Institute. In this capacity, she provides leadership for partnering with Chicago public schools to advance the quality of PreK–3rd grade education.
For the 15 years prior to joining Erikson in 2009, Dr. Maxwell co-developed and served as a curriculum coordinator and principal of an innovative non-graded public school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for children ages three through 14.
She previously was a professor of teacher education at Winthrop University in South Carolina and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee where she also co-directed the Milwaukee Early Schooling Initiative.
