Message from the Campaign Chairs |
continued
Erikson provides the most effective way we know to do that.
It works at the very roots of the issue, early childhood, where the pattern of success—or failure—is set. It is one of the country’s greatest resources, educating, researching, examining, and improving public policy and serving young children and their families directly, one-to-one, through its alumni and its many programs of community engagement. Just about everyone who knows anything about child development knows Erikson. Everyone recognizes the extraordinary value of the work Erikson does. |

| Fulfilling the Promise helps close the distance between that value and the resources we need to continue providing it. It increases funding for the programs, services, and initiatives that have put Chicago on the map in the field of early childhood. It allows us to serve our community, but more than that, it enables us to create and share models of the work to serve young children and families in communities everywhere. As important, it ensures that the work will go on by widening the circle of people who know and care about Erikson and its mission.
We’re very proud of the part we’re playing in this tremendous effort. Given the response to date, we expect we’ll exceed our current goal, and we’re excited to do so. But our campaign won’t be a success until it gives many more people the means to make life better, not just for themselves, but for children everywhere.
We hope you will join us. There are only so many opportunities in life to make a contribution that truly makes a difference. This is one of them.
Sincerely, |
