Description:

At home, on the bus, or at the store – transform an ordinary moment into one that captures math learning with a sense of excitement and wonder. Participants will receive a brief overview of the big ideas in early mathematics, and an introduction to using the inquiry method and real-world environments for exploring math concepts. Great for parents, nannies, sitters, day care providers, and teachers working with families and young children.

Instructors:

Renee Miller, M.S.

Renee Miller, M.S. is a coach with the Erikson Early Math Collaborative, working with preschool through second grade teachers. She completed her masters degree in early childhood education at Erikson Institute. Prior to working with the Collaborative, she taught preschool and Kindergarten for Chicago Public Schools.

Jill Sapoznick, M.A.Ed.

Sapoznick completed a master's degree in education from Pepperdine University. She has taught in a variety of classrooms In Illinois, and has endorsements in Spanish, ESL, and Bilingual Education.
