Master's program schedule
Most of our master’s programs begin in the fall semester; our program leading to Type 04 teacher certification starts in the summer. Classes are offered year-round in a preset sequence carefully designed to complement and build on previous and concurrent courses.

While our curriculum is preset, our scheduling process allows you choices:

Cohorts
Erikson enrolls master’s degree students in cohort groups, which determine the times and days that most of your courses will be offered. To best fit your schedule, you can select the morning, afternoon, or evening cohort. You’ll take the majority of your core academic courses in these time periods and enjoy the sense of community that comes from learning with the same group of students. Specific program requirements do lead to some variations, so it’s important to note that the cohort model does not guarantee that you will take every course with the same group of people or in the same time slot.

Program length
Master’s program students may also choose to enroll as a two- or a three-year student. Dual-degree students may complete their program in three or four years. You must complete all your degree requirements within five years of matriculation. You should consult with the admissions office and/or your faculty interviewer to determine which study option best meets your needs.
