Contribute to Erikson
“Erikson's impact goes beyond a particular group of children to the community as a whole.”
— Mitchell Lederer, partner, Brand Capital Equity; trustee and donor
Your gift to Erikson Institute provides the vital resources we need to provide advanced knowledge to those who work with children in the critical early years of life.

There are several opportunities for you to contribute:
  • Erikson’s annual fund. We count on donors who give every year, providing a stream of sustaining, unrestricted income for essential program support and immediate needs.

  • Project support. While unrestricted giving sustains Erikson’s ongoing activities, there are also dozens of specific research projects and student support initiatives that rely on designated funding. Browse this list to see all the areas where Erikson’s active faculty is generating new knowledge and improving services to children and families and the ways we enhance our preparation of early childhood professionals. We thank the donors who fund these projects; contact us if you wish to contribute in one of these areas.
  • Fulfilling the Promise: The Campaign for Erikson. This $30 million, five-year fundraising campaign will support a new home where we can expand our work, and create permanent endowed support for professorships, faculty innovations, fellowships, and programs.

  • Planned gifts. Deferred gifts support Erikson while offering significant estate planning and tax advantages for you and your family. Contact us to learn more about making a bequest of cash, property, or securities, funding gifts with retirement assets or insurance policies, or creating charitable trusts that allow you to draw benefits from assets during your lifetime.

The Legacy Society honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to Erikson Institute through their estate or deferred gifts. Legacy donors receive special recognition in Erikson publications and through invitations to special activities. The Institute will also honor requests for donor anonymity. Members of the society may choose to designate their gifts as unrestricted or direct them to a permanent program. Staff can assist donors in providing options and making that decision.

Membership in this honorary society is simply a matter of advising the Vice President of Institutional Advancement of the creation of a legacy gift: a bequest in a will or living trust; a charitable remainder trust; or designation as beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy.  Please contact Eileen Murphy, vice president for institutional advancement, at 312-893-7110 or email eriksonfund@erikson.edu.
