Manning is currently the Director of the Child Life Program at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, which she has led for 20 years. For eight years prior to her work at Comer, she was a dorm supervisor for emotionally disturbed boys at St. Joseph’s Carondelet Child’s Center. Her professional career began in St. Louis as an elementary school teacher for primary grades.
She teaches the Child Life course at Erikson Institute.
