Description
A child lives in the context of a family, and all families are different. This workshop will examine two significant differences in the family: the child that is developing atypically and the parenting couple that is gay or lesbian. Participants will learn how to make their practice more respectful and effective when working with families with these differences. The workshop will also highlight the similarities shared by all families with young children. Participants will leave with new ideas and strategies for working with the families they serve and “meeting the family where they are.”
