Because parking in downtown Chicago is scarce and costly, Erikson Institute participates in the University Pass (U-Pass) program through the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). This program offers full-time students a discounted pass for unlimited rides on all CTA buses and trains and PACE buses for a discounted fee of approximately $85 per semester.

To be eligible for a pass, you must be enrolled for eight or more credit hours during fall or spring semesters, or six or more credit hours during summer term. Please note that in order for Erikson to to participate in this program and offer this benefit to students, all eligible registered will automatically be charged for a UPass, whether or not they use the pass. If a student who was eligible at the beginning of a semester subsequently drops below the required credit hours, the student’s UPass will be deactivated, and the fee may be refunded on a prorated basis. The CTA train stop closest to Erikson Institute is the Grand stop on the Red Line. Bus routes serving Erikson’s new campus on LaSalle Street include the #65 Grand running along Grand and Illinois, the #22 Clark, and the #156 LaSalle. Street parking is extremely limited. Students who commute by car are encouraged to allow extra time to find parking. Discounted parking is available at the Grand Plaza parking structure, with entrances off Grand and Ohio streets between State and Dearborn. The discounted parking rate is $10 if you park before 3 p.m. and $6 after 3 p.m. Parking is also available at the Mart Parc Orleans deck, located at 437 North Orleans with  entrances on Orleans and Hubbard (3.5 blocks from Erikson). Rates are $6 if you park between 5 a.m and 3 p.m. (for up to 12 hours) or $4 after 3 p.m. and all day on weekends. Please see staff at the security desk in the lobby to request a discount validation ticket for the deck you used. Insert this card in the payment machines after the ticket from the parking deck gate to receive the discount.
