Sometimes parents want someone to listen and find support and resources without red tape. A simple call to our warmline connects you with an infant specialist who will be there with support and information to help you care for your baby. We answer your calls Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. On weekends, we check messages and return calls. There is no charge for this service. Call 888-431-BABY.

Home Visiting Program
In the first months of a baby’s life, it’s challenging for parents to meet baby’s round-the-clock needs as well as their own. We understand that at this stage, getting out of the house with or without baby is daunting; therefore Fussy Baby infant specialists come to you. When we meet with you in your home, we will discuss your concerns and offer support and information. We will talk together about your baby’s day, think about strategies to soothe and calm your baby, and explore ways that you can enjoy your baby and take better care of your own needs. We offer reasonable fees on a sliding fee scale, and no family will be turned away for financial reasons.

Fussy Baby Clinic at the University of Chicago
“Is my baby really O.K?” parents of fussy babies may worry. We provide an opportunity for parents to share their concerns about baby’s health and physical development with a specially trained behavioral and developmental pediatrician. When you are receiving Fussy Baby Network services, our consulting pediatrician will examine your baby and discuss your baby’s health, development, temperament and unique patterns of behavior. The Fussy Baby Clinic visit at the University of Chicago Hospital is scheduled by the infant specialist who is working with the family. All major insurance carriers are accepted, including Medicaid; please check with your insurance provider.

Fussy Baby Caring Parents Groups
Parents have needs too. It’s good to get dressed, get out of the house, and meet other parents to socialize, laugh, and learn. Our groups are led by an infant specialist who will create a warm, relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind as you learn more about topics of special interest such as helping a fussy baby sleep, life after colic, or infant massage. Groups are formed on an as-needed basis.

Fussy Baby Latina
The stress and isolation many immigrant families face are serious risk factors to their infants’ healthy development. Which is why the Fussy Baby Network specifically tailored its services to Chicago’s Latino community.

Fussy Baby Latina is designed to work with churches and community centers—places that already have a trusted relationship with the Latino community—and provide social support to parents and safe environments in which their children can play and interact with others. At group sessions, parents can ask questions, offer advice to one another, or simply vent frustrations. Staff talk with parents, listen and observe carefully, and look for ways to guide them to services that can enhance their child’s development.

This outreach—funded by Chicago Public Schools Office of Early Childhood Education’s Community Partnership Program—is changing lives all over Chicago through direct services to families and training to social services professionals.
