Home visiting program
In the first months of a baby’s life, it’s challenging for parents to meet baby’s round-the-clock needs as well as their own. Getting out of the house can feel very daunting; therefore, Fussy Baby Network’s infant-parent specialists come to you. When we meet with you in your home, we will listen to your concerns and offer support and information. We will talk together about your baby’s day, think about strategies to soothe and calm your baby, and explore ways that you can enjoy your baby more. The visits are $40 and offered on a sliding scale — no family will be turned away for financial reasons. To request a Chicago-area home visit, call 888-431-BABY (2229) or email us at [email protected]. You can also contact our national partner organizations for local support.
Consultation with development behavioral pediatricians through Fussy Baby Network
“Is my baby really okay?” parents of fussy babies may worry. We provide an opportunity for parents to share their concerns about their baby’s health and physical development with a specially trained behavioral and developmental pediatrician. When you are receiving Fussy Baby Network services, our consulting pediatrician can examine your baby and discuss your baby’s health, development, temperament, and unique patterns of behavior. The consultation is at the University of Chicago; insurance is accepted.
Fussy Baby Blues, a web-based support group
A collaboration with Beyond the Baby Blues, Fussy Baby Blues is for mothers who have a fussy baby and who may be experiencing post-partum depression. As the group is web-based, this is an opportunity for moms to receive support without having to leave the house. Groups are six weeks. The next group begins in November 2015. For information on the next group meeting, contact Nancy Mork at (312) 893-7195.
