D452 and D453 – Supervision Seminar I and II
3 Credit Hours
3 credit hours each semester
Concurrent with on-site work, dual degree students participate
in a weekly supervision seminar that focuses on
bridging theory and practice and developing appropriate
plans and strategies for practice. Seminars also aim to
help students reflect on their professional practice by considering
problem-solving and decision-making strategies.
Students are encouraged to reflect on how their own history,
experience and cultural background may influence
their work with children, families, and colleagues. Students
also address issues of professionalism, including the ability
to articulate a philosophy and rationale for one’s decisions,
and develop an understanding of the group process.
