Evaluation of a Professional Development Program for Support Staff Working with Home-Based Child Care Providers
Juliet Bromer
Spring 2010-–Spring 2012
This process evaluation is using a multi-method approach to examine how a year-long training program helps child care center staff develop relational and reflective practice skills and developmental knowledge to offer effective support to home-based care providers. The evaluation entails three assessment points (baseline, mid-year, and post-program) consisting of in-depth interviews with staff and providers, assessments of staff skills through vignette responses, and assessments of staff professionalism and knowledge.
A sub-study is being conducted with providers who receive services from staff that have completed the program and will include interviews with providers and assessments of perceptions of services received. More about the sub-study »
