Lessons Learned from the Early Childhood Specialist Program

Juliet Bromer
Summer 2011–Summer 2012

This project is examining the experiences of participants in the Early Childhood Specialist program run by the Catholic Schools in the city of Chicago. The purpose of this ongoing program is to develop and support leaders in prekindergarten programs. In collaboration with the Office of Catholic Schools and the Big Shoulders Fund, the project will examine the alignment between the program goals and implementation through examining the experiences of participants in the program including specialists, mentees (teachers), school principals, and program leaders. Qualitative data will inform the ongoing development and improvement of the early childhood specialist program.
