The Early Math Collaborative at Erikson Institute, formerly called the Early Mathematics Education Project, has a new online home at earlymath.erikson.edu.

“Our new name and website illustrate Erikson’s ongoing commitment to supporting high-quality math education for young children,” says Jennifer S. McCray, director of the Early Math Collaborative.

On the new site, teachers, parents, and others interested in early math have access to the Collaborative’s wealth of early math ideas, techniques, and materials, all connected to the Common Core State Standards. The site also hosts thoughtful discussion and debate about better teacher training and resources in early mathematics.

About the Early Math Collaborative

Since its founding in 2007, the Early Math Collaborative has grown from facilitating a single professional development project with Chicago Public Schools to a robust and complex group of professional educators and researchers.

The Collaborative now reaches hundreds of teachers, teachers-in-training, and teacher educators across the country each year through a variety of professional development services in settings from public school districts to children’s museums.

Before March 2013, the Early Math Collaborative was known as the Early Mathematics Education Project.
