Assistant professor Amanda Moreno joins the faculty with more than 20 years of work experience in the field, including direct service with children and families, curriculum and assessment development, social policy, community partnerships, program evaluation, and original research.

Her areas of study include adult-child interactions, and how they can serve as a buffering influence for children who have experienced adversity. She earned her doctorate in developmental psychology from the University of Denver.

Assistant professor Dhara Thakar joins the faculty after having served for one and a half years as director for a federally funded project to develop and implement training in Erikson’s Fussy Baby Network® approach for home visiting staff in Healthy Families Illinois programs.

She was previously an adjunct faculty member at Erikson, and received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a concentration in child, adolescent, and family psychology.
