A volunteer opportunity sponsored by Erikson’s Social Justice Committee and Student Committee in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Four to five people are needed to volunteer at the Hyde Park Kenwood Food Pantry, where groceries are given out every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers need to arrive by 9:30 to help with set-up and to be oriented to the pantry. (You must be on time!) You’ll be finished by 1:20, after cleaning up.
Typically, new volunteers do physical work, such as packing bags and bringing them to the recipients, recycling the cardboard cases, re-packing bulk food items, and cleaning the pantry storage area, but there are a variety of tasks to be done.
If you are an Erikson student, graduate, or employee interested in volunteering, please email Jessica Greaney at [email protected]. Carpooling will be available from Erikson to and from Hyde Park.
