Prior to her role with Erikson Institute’s Early Math Collaborative, Lisa Ginet, EdD, spent more than a quarter-century as a professional educator in various roles: classroom teacher, family child care provider, parent educator, home visitor, teacher trainer, and adjunct instructor. She has worked in a wide range of settings, from child care centers and elementary and middle schools to community colleges and private universities. She has taught mathematics to children from infancy to middle school and to teachers in college classes and workshops.
Her doctoral dissertation was titled, “How Does It All Add Up? Investigating How Teachers’ Attitudes & Beliefs About Mathematics Interact with Classroom Practice in Teaching Math to Young Children.”
