Patricia Chamberlain teaches Assessment and Emergent Literacy for New Language Learners. She was the director of Elgin’s U46 Schools, a large urban early childhood program which included birth to 5 home visiting programs, state funded preschool, special education preschool, kindergarten and full day kindergarten. She directed an Early Reading First federal grant which focused on literacy development in English and Spanish for children with and without special needs. She currently works with school districts and agencies to develop culturally and linguistically responsive early childhood programs.
