Set Yourself Up For Teaching Success

Forever change how you think of and interact with young children in your classroom.

Be well prepared to educate students from birth through second grade with varying learning abilities, developmental delays and/or disabilities.

Upon completing this program, you’ll be eligible to earn the LBS1 endorsement and Early Childhood Special Education letter of approval from the Illinois State Board of Education. This educator license allows you to teach general education to young children with special needs.

Already hold a valid teaching license? You can earn the LBS1 endorsement and Early Childhood Special Education letter of approval by completing just four courses in the curriculum.

This course examines the content and methods of teaching social studies and the sciences to young children from diverse family, linguistic and cultural backgrounds in kindergarten through grade three.
Teaching and Learning in Diverse and Inclusive Settings: Reading and Writing
This course prepares teacher candidates to guide young children from diverse family and cultural backgrounds in learning to read and write.
Preschool Curricular Approaches in Diverse and Inclusive Settings
This course examines the history of and current research base for quality education programs for preschool and kindergarten children of diverse cultures, languages, and economic and developmental backgrounds.
