Beyond the Numbers
Beyond the Numbers introduces you to the art of contextualizing data, revealing the humanity and experiences it encapsulates. We’ll explore how perspectives, power dynamics, and motivations influence data narratives. Through discussion and a targeted breakout activity on root causes, you’ll learn to recognize and adjust the narratives informed by structural-level data and lived experiences.
Participants will:
- Critically interpret data using root-cause analysis.
- Identify perspectives present or missing from the data narrative.
- Recognize limitations within their own data interpretations.
