Home-based providers account for up to 42% of early care and education provided to young children (birth through school-age). Home-based providers may include licensed providers, exempt providers, or unregistered providers. Most trainers, home visitors, and support specialists have little background, knowledge, and understanding of home-based care, which can too often lead to ineffective support systems for providers. Town Square at Erikson Institute is a national leader in this field. We understand home-based care and have created content, resources, and continuing education that meet the needs of providers. We are also connecting research to practice and can help you do the same. Spend a day with our team at Erikson Institute and learn more about high quality home-based care and how you can use Town Square to improve your work with home-based providers. Participants will leave this session;
  • Understanding the intricacies of effective home-based care
  • Understanding how there can be many right ways
  • Understanding the needs of diverse providers
  • Understanding home-based care challenges and how to support them
  • Understanding how to find the right support tools
  • Understanding research to practice for yourself and for the providers
  • Understanding how Town Square facilitator guides can support your work
