T482 – Administration of Child Life Programs
This course focuses on organizational factors important in leading, administering and supervising programs in child life. It examines key concepts and practices of leadership and management. This course explores communication styles and how varying styles and culture influence communication. It reviews components of CL programming, including planning and implementing a child-centered environment, promoting the inclusion of children and families with differences and/or other special needs, and implementing assessment procedures. Through this course, students develop a conceptual overview of a CL program, including a needs assessment, philosophy statement, and marketing plan.
