B407 – Methods and Materials for Teaching New Language Learners II: Reflective Practice
This year long reflective practice seminar will give teachers the opportunity to examine their ongoing classroom practice during the course of a school year. Students engage in a systematic examination of their frameworks of knowledge; the relationship between students, content, and subject matters; the interconnections of culture, language, and home-school relationships; and themselves as teachers. This reflective process is conducted in a collaborative and interactive manner that focuses on actual practice and allows for the interplay of inquiry and experience. The seminar will meet twice a month in a small group format that fosters open discussion and the examination of issues.
