T486 – Working with Adults
This course examines why working with adults in children’s lives is every bit as important as working with the children themselves, yet the field tends to spend very little time and energy reflecting upon intentional and effective work with colleagues, supervisors, parents, and other family and community members. This course focuses on these issues with an explicit focus on practicing communication, collaboration, problem solving, and interdisciplinary team processes. We explore various models of supervision. And across relationships, students learn to focus on strengths, partner around vulnerabilities, and develop self-knowledge as a professional competency.
