Jamilah R. Jor’dan, M.Ed. ’94, has been appointed interim assistant dean of Student Affairs and Services for the College of Education at Chicago State University. She is also an associate professor in the Department of Early Childhood-Primary and Bilingual Education.
Matthew Shirrell, M.S. ’07, completed a doctoral program in human development and social policy at Northwestern University in June 2014. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow with the Distributed Leadership Study at Northwestern’s School of Education and Social Policy.
Emmy-Lea Agustin, M.S. ’12, is a certified child life specialist, health and wellness coach at Clark Hatch Fitness Center in Honolulu, and active volunteer for healthcare and education organizations. In 2013, she launched a motivational campaign focused on fitness and inspiration called “Operation Emmy.”
Mark Henick, M.S. ’12, recently accepted a position at the Canadian Mental Health Association as program manager for Mental Health Works, a training program that builds capacity for workplace mental health in corporate settings across Canada. He got married in 2012, and in 2013, he and his wife Rebekah welcomed son Noah, Mark delivered a successful TEDxToronto Talk, and he signed with the National Speakers Bureau in Canada. He writes, “I continue to use my developmental lens to inform my mental health work more broadly.”
