Geoffrey Nagle Honored with International Award
The World Association for Infant Mental Health awarded Erikson Institute President and CEO Geoffrey A. Nagle, Ph.D., the 2016 World Association for Infant Mental Health Sonya Bemporad Award.
Given every two years, the award honors individuals whose work has led to advancements in social and public policies that improve the mental health and well-being of infants, toddlers, and families.
The award is named for a pioneer in promoting relationship-centered child care and implementing it in child care settings in her home state of Texas and beyond. Sonya Bemporad was president of the International Association for Infant Mental Health and instrumental in its merger with the World Association for Infant Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines, which formed today’s World Association for Infant Mental Health.
