Maxwell joins Erikson president emeritus Samuel J. Meisels who became the founding executive director of the Buffett Early Childhood Institute in 2013.

“Chris’s work has made a significant and lasting difference for Erikson, schools, and the children and families we serve,” says Aisha Ray, senior vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty. “Her passion, commitment, and knowledge of early education, schools, and teacher preparation has inspired all of us who have worked closely with her.”

Professor Gillian McNamee is serving as interim director for the New Schools Project during the search for Maxwell’s replacement.
