The nominees represent the people and companies making moves in Chicago’s tech scene across several industries.

According to the nomination,

“[t]echnology is changing the education game, even down to early childhood education. That’s where the Technology in Early Childhood (TEC) center at Erikson Institute comes in. This center is the only one in Chicago focused on creating best practices for using technology in early childhood development. Recently they helped to write the NAEYC position statement on technology and early childhood which has since been referenced by organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and US Department of Education.”

The TEC Center was one 150 nominees, and one of 22 in the education category.
