Danielle Weaver has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and a master’s in education, with a concentration in counseling and child development, from DePaul University. She started her career in early childhood close to 20 years ago, as an Early Intervention (EI) Service Coordinator working with infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. From EI she transitioned to positions where she supported local and national Early/Head Start programs in training and technical assistance roles,focusing on early childhood inclusive practices for children with suspected and diagnosed disabilities and behavioral challenges. She has also held early childhood administrative roles, overseeing early childhood special education programs for Chicago Public Schools’ Office of Diverse Learner & Supports and as an Assistant Director or Early Learning for Easterseals Chicago. She joined the Erikson team as an adjunct instructor in 2019. Currently she is the Early Learning Talent Acquisition Specialist for Easterseals Chicago and adjunct instructor with the Erikson Special Education team.
She currently resides in central Wisconsin with her husband, 7-year-old son,and high energy chocolate Labrador. Although leaving the city of Chicago was a tough transition for her and her family, they have learned to embrace and love the outdoors: boating, hiking, visiting local farms, and snowboarding. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga and reading Reese Witherspoon book club picks.
