The Higher Learning Commission’s Public Information policy (FDCR.A.10.070) and Criterion 2B articulate that institutions publish “required state licensure exam pass rates.”
Required Tests for Illinois Licensure

- edTPA
- Teacher performance assessment for first-time teacher licensure candidates.
- edTPA was waived beginning in spring 2020 for candidates due to complete the assessment during COVID.
- On August 4, 2023 (PA 103-0488), the Illinois State Board of Education eliminated this requirement for licensure candidates through August 31, 2025.
