At Erikson Institute, we are proud to welcome students from around the world into any of our fully online programs. However, please note that we do not offer F-1 visa sponsorship for students wishing to study on Erikson’s campus in the United States.

DEMONSTRATION OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Send Official TOEFL or IELTS Test Scores

If your native language is not English, you must submit official test scores directly to Erikson from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as evidence of proficiency in oral and written English. Test scores must be no more than two years old at the time of admission.

If you have received a degree from a college or university in the United States or where the language of instruction is English, proficiency scores are not needed.

Are There Minimum Requirements for English Proficiency Tests?

For TOEFL, you must receive a minimum score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL, 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, or 550 on the paper-based TOEFL. Include Erikson’s institution code of 0623 to have your test scores sent to Admissions.

For IELTS, you must receive a minimum overall band score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6.0 on the academic reading and academic writing sections. Erikson doesn’t accept scores from the General Training exam

FOREIGN TRANSCRIPTS AND EVALUATION

Submit Your Previous Transcripts For Review

If you have completed undergraduate or graduate level work at a college or university outside the United States submit official sealed transcripts from each institution to Erikson for review. Unofficial transcripts may be used for evaluation of meeting admissions criteria.

We require an outside evaluation service review of your transcripts with course-by-course evaluations. Your transcripts and documents must be in English for our review. To ensure the most complete review, please include all courses on the submitted documents.

Erikson Institute does not currently issue any student visas for study within the United States. International students may enroll in specific fully-online programs while studying in their home country.

Yes, so long as part-time study is an option in your selected program.

Yes and these will vary depending on degree program. Please note that while Erikson holds evening courses course meeting times are Central Daylight Time.

You may qualify for a merit-based Leadership Scholarship as an admitted master’s or certificate program student for up to 20% across your program. The Leadership Scholarship application is built into the application for admission with your response to essay prompt #2. As the Leadership Scholarship is merit based, not all students will be awarded the scholarship.

A selected number of banks offer loans for international students to finance their education. In order to be eligible, international students must have a co-signer who is a US citizen or permanent resident.
