This introductory workshop is designed to expand your view of data from mere statistics to powerful narratives. Beyond the Numbers introduces you to the art of contextualizing data, revealing the humanity and experiences it encapsulates.
We’ll explore how perspectives, power dynamics, and motivations influence data narratives. Through discussion and a targeted breakout activity on root causes, you’ll learn to recognize and adjust the narratives informed by structural-level data and lived experiences.
Participants will:
- Critically interpret data using root-cause analysis.
- Identify perspectives present or missing from the data narrative.
- Recognize limitations within their own data interpretations.
Please note that in order for this workshop to run effectively, we must have 20 participants. In the event that this number is not met by November 6th, 2025, the workshop will be canceled.
