T458 – Integrative Seminar: Classroom Management and Instructional Techniques in Diverse and Inclusive Settings III
This course is designed to support Teach For American Corp members in the second year of teaching. It is the first part of a yearlong seminar designed to guide their teaching practice with children and colleagues in diverse and inclusive settings. In this seminar, Corp members demonstrate a growing understanding of the Illinois Learning Standards and learn to work effectively in planning and teaching with professional colleagues to meet individual student needs. Seminar sessions support Corp members with integrating theory with practice, continuing development of content knowledge, refining methods of teaching, deepening their understanding of how to work effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds, and learning to work effectively with school administrators and staff (assistant teachers and paraprofessionals) working in their classrooms with children. Corp members will reflect on all aspects of professional teaching practice and develop further goals for their own professional development.
