Learn to advocate for children and their families in health-care settings as they cope with chronic and acute illness, injury, or trauma. Develop specialized skills to help them understand their complex health care challenges and to minimize the stresses brought on by medical procedures and the hospitalization experience.
- Prepare for your role as a certified child life specialist in hospitals and community-based medical centers.
- Complete your child life internship at one of the Chicago area’s highly regarded child life clinical programs.
- Gain knowledge about child development and developmentally appropriate child life practice that you can utilize in your work with children and families.
Our program meets the academic standards set forth by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP), and upon completion of all program requirements, you will be eligible to sit for the Child Life Professional Certification Examination.
