Laurita Torres, ( Lau- like saying LOUd without a D) is a clinical social worker, with 10+ years of experience within the field of social work providing therapy, child parent psychotherapy (CPP), and crisis intervention services to families impacted by violence. She also has experience in working with perpetrators of intimate partner violence, program development and supervision to the counseling and internship departments at Sarah’s Inn.

Lau has completed graduate degrees in social work and divinity studies. Lau is passionate about the intersection of social work and spirituality, and group work that enables process of examining identities within the larger conversation of race, the complexity of identity, oppressive power structures, and a specific focus on unpacking the nuances within racial identities.

Lau is a Chicago transplant, food enthusiast and amateur dancer. She loves cats but is currently a proud parent of a furry chocolate labmix.
