Development of Family Child Care and Family & Community Engagement Standards for Illinois’s new QRIS (ExeleRate)
Through this project, Erikson is collaborating with the Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood to develop standards for ExeleRate, Illinois’s new quality rating and improvement system (QRIS) for early childhood programs. The first part of this work is developing research-based level 5 standards for family and community engagement in center-based early childhood programs.
Focus groups with providers and parents will be conducted around the state to inform the development of the standards and identify areas for support, training, and professional development related to family and community engagement practices.
The second part of this work will entail working with the Governor’s Office to develop family child care standards and procedures for ExceleRate to be used by home-based early care and education providers.
